Rebuild Staff

Katie Mears came down to New Orleans to volunteer for the week after Christmas 2005 and, much to her own surprise, ended up staying. She now works for the Diocese coordinating all aspects of the rebuild program, focusing especially on working with the homeowners and fundraising. Her path here wasn't particularly linear--after graduating from Grinnell College with a history degree, she worked on a couple of political campaigns, taught gifted kids and sold books. Send her an email at kmears@edola.org if you have any questions.

Amanda Davis is surprised as anyone to learn that this is where her double major in English and history and post-graduate studies in radio documentary have taken her. She is the Homeowner Coordinator, and spends her time making sure that everything runs smoothly from the perspective of the homeowners. She also coordinates volunteers for the rebuild program, so if you have questions, feel free to call her at 504-655-1909 or send her an email at adavis@edola.org.

Liz Carrier graduated from Grinnell College. She has worked coaching soccer and pouring coffee, and was previously an intern with the Rebuild Program. Now, she is the Construction Coordinator, which means that she is responsible for getting our houses ready for volunteers, and also for making sure that everything is ready for the homeowner to move in when we leave.

Ross Koon was born in North Carolina and moved to the Midwest in high school. After graduating from Grinnell, he came down to New Orleans and can't seem to leave.
